Description
This 2020 Red Blend from Dixie and Bass is pure Columbia Valley. The regions warm suns and magic soils produce wines that are fruit-forward, yet retain some of the structure of European wines.
BASS: This is an excellent bottle to keep in the pantry. But you might also think about a case in your wine cellar. DIXIE: Not everyone has a wine cellar, hon. BASS: A spare bedroom, then. DIXIE: Spare bedroom? BASS: Sure. No one ever uses our spare bedroom. The wallpaper is straight out of a 60’s horror film. DIXIE: I hand-picked that wallpaper myself! BASS: With your eyes closed? DIXIE: You are so in the doghouse.
90 Points – James Suckling
TASTING NOTES
Bright and effusive on the nose, with red cherry, cranberry, dried herb and baking spices. Equally complex on the palate, with round tannins framing a pleasing mid palate and a long, fruit driven finish
WINEMAKERS NOTES
Grapes were delicatley hand picked, destemmed and fermented on the skins for ten days before being aged for 20 months in New American Oak.
PAIRINGS
Enjoy with salmon, glazed duck, or a roasted chicken.
